What can I expect?

Each child and their parent/guardian will sit on a mat on the floor (please bring a mat/blanket). The choir will perform different pieces of music - some classical (for example the Hallelujah Chorus or the Seal Lullaby), some show music (a Disney medley) and some popular music (for example a few Abba Songs). We will also do a few nursery rhymes. hildren are invited to move and join in wherever possible. We will guide you through the event to help you with this - and depending on the age of your child, you'll be more or less involved. There will be a magic music dragon, bubbles, scarves and more. The concert will last 60 minutes and we will have a break halfway where we offer water/squash and biscuits.

My child is older than 5 years, can we still come?

Absolutely - you are welcome to come, there will be many enjoyable moments for you and your child. Just bear in mind that the programme has been designed for that younger age group, so maybe some of the activities will be a little too easy for your child - feel free to adapt them for your child.

Will there be any food and drink?

We will provide water, squash and biscuits in the interval. Please provide any other food/drink for your children as appropriate. We don't mind them eating or drinking throughout the performance either.

My child will not sit still, can I still come?

YES. All children are welcome. They are allowed to move as they need to and we don't mind noise. We would only ask you to consider the other people at the concert if your child is very loud. There is a separate room if your child needs some time to calm down for whatever reason.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring a mat to sit on and any snacks or drinks for your child that we don't provide (we have water, squash and biscuits).

Can I bring more than one child?

Yes, you are welcome to bring as many children as you can look after during the event. Please book a child ticket for each child you bring.

What happens to the proceeds of the concert?

Proceeds of the concert will go to the Sing Up Foundation, a charity that believes in singing for mental health and wellbeing for children and young people. They are a hub for information, guidance and training (most recently on trauma-informed singing) and are involved in a number of project, for example with young refugees. This is a worth-while cause to support esp. as a parent and as a lover of music. We will have donation buckets at the concert, please bring cash.
